Kimberly Powell, Nvidia's vice president of health care, and her team build domain-specific applications for health care, including in the realm of imaging, computing, genomics and drug discovery, under the umbrella of the "Clara" suite. Health care is one of the largest data industries, Powell says. I'm not sure that's true," said Dr. Josh Fessel, director of the office of translational medicine at the National Institutes of Health. However, the thing about document creation, says Dr. Kaveh Safavi, senior managing director for Accenture's global health care business, is that medical professionals must learn to verbalize their findings in the exam room.

The demand for Nvidia's AI chips could bolster job growth across the semiconductor industry. It could also help bring more semiconductor chip manufacturing stateside and reduce the US's reliance on Taiwan — which remains vulnerable to Chinese invasion that would wreak havoc on the global economy. AdvertisementEven without the AI boom, the semiconductor industry was already poised for big job gains in the near future. Of the 115,000 US new semiconductor jobs the Semiconductor Industry Association is projecting by 2030, it said roughly 67,000 of these positions risk going unfilled given current college degree completion rates. In an effort to prevent a worker shortage, community colleges and universities across the country have partnered with semiconductor companies.

Generative AI was the hot topic at the 2024 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. In 2024, the dominant conversation across all types of attendees was the impact and future of generative AI: specifically how to responsibly, creatively, and effectively use it across the organization. Generative AI requires a fundamentally different enterprise architecture. Take intentional actions to design, deploy, and use generative AI to drive value while protecting from risks, helping you close the gap on responsible AI. Generative AI will let marketers drive continuous reinvention and become even more critical to the business.

Sept 20 (Reuters) - Consumer goods firms like Nestle (NESN.S), Lindt (LISN.S) and Unilever (ULVR.L) may face increased pressure across Europe to cut prices after being singled out by French retailers and politicians, industry experts say. France is a crucial country for consumer goods companies, having long outstripped Germany, Italy, Spain and others as the European Union's biggest market for groceries by supermarket revenues, according to research firm IBISWorld. That means consumer groups will face pressure to rein back prices across the European Union. Because these supermarkets are in different countries and do not compete with one another, they often combine forces to negotiate with consumer goods makers. Consumer goods makers have for more than two years grappled with sky-rocketing input, supply chain and labour costs that they have either absorbed - taking a hit to margins - or passed on to retailers.

June 22 (Reuters) - IT consulting firm Accenture forecast fourth-quarter revenue below Wall Street estimates on Thursday on worries that rising economic uncertainty will keep IT budgets tight and prevent businesses from signing fresh contracts. Accenture forecast current-quarter revenue in the range of $15.75 billion to $16.35 billion. Accenture's new bookings, or deals in the pipeline, grew 2% to $17.2 billion in the third quarter. Accenture looks to power AI efforts with $3 billion investment

June 13 (Reuters) - Accenture said on Tuesday it will invest $3 billion over three years into its data and AI practice, doubling the number of employees that are working with the cutting-edge technology at the IT consulting firm. The company, which consults and services various clients on generative AI projects, said it will have 80,000 people working on AI as it hires, buys other companies and trains more employees. Accenture did not say by when it would hit that number, but added that the investment was aimed to help companies across 19 industries. The firm's move underscores a rush among companies to burnish their offerings with generative AI - technology that the likes of Microsoft (MSFT.O) and Alphabet (GOOGL.O) say will change the way many jobs are done. On Monday, Salesforce (CRM.N) doubled its venture capital fund for generative AI startups to $500 million and unveiled an AI Cloud service that hopes to attract enterprises by offering its AI-powered products under one umbrella.
